Jun-Sept. "Sea History" Magazine Summer 2007
Linda Norton of Linda Norton Studio is the featured artist
on the cover of "Sea History"
magazine, the publication of the National Maritime Historical Society. The
magazine also
contains a two page article about her maritime watercolors and a single page
about the
USCG art program and her participation in it with pictures of USCG personal.
Three of the
paintings in the article are featured in the Lighthouse Museum conference room
in Rockland.

The cover painting for the magazine Sea History, "Twelve Knots" and "USCG,
Cadet Carla"
as well as her painting "Tarped" are being shipped to Coos Bay, Oregon to be exhibited at the
Coos Art Museum 14th annual Maritime Exhibit from Saturday, July 14th-- Saturday, September
22nd 2007. Linda's work was chosen from 231 submissions by 101 artists. The panel of jurors
selected 82 works by 55 artists to be included in this exhibit. Ms. Norton will attend
the artist
only 'Sneak Peak'
opening in Oregon on the 13th of July and the awards ceremony on the 14th.
She
is extremely
pleased to have her work from the mid coast area of Maine be represented in
at
such a prestigious show in Oregon.

Located in Savannah this now closed gallery was displaying
several
of Linda's works including Lighthouses and nautically themed originals.
All works are the copyright of the artist and ownershipcan be legally proven.
Any works supposedly purchased through this venue the artist
never received payment for excepting one therefore please notify me if you are
in
possession of one of these works and have proof of payment. All the
original works exhibited at this venue have been stolen and any information
that leads to their retrieval would be greatly appreciated. Legal action will be
taken
against persons responsible unless the works are returned in excellent
condition.

Commerce "After Hours"
The monthly meeting of the CRL chamber was
held at the Studio, Home and Apartment.
Chamber members were invited to browse through all areas of the Studio, House
and
new apartment (Bayview Arie). Approximately sixty members attended and viewed
fine art
in the gallery as well as the house. Some examples of Faux finishing were also
apparent
on walls, floors and ceilings. A nice time was had by all.
