Stretch's Page
Sometimes being a cat just gets to be tooooo much! Try as I might I will never figure out this "artist" thing, and living with one could be very stressful if I didn't know how to teach her the important things in life like:
Regardless of what you might be doing
or who else
is watching you must always
be ready and willing to check out any new and
strange thing. Even if it is meant for Dogs, (ugh). Taste tests
are sometimes necessary and, REGARDLESS of what anyone tells you, watch your
back!
The best defense is a high spot, near a doorway where you can observe while
looking cool and unconcerned.
When inside it is necessary to try to stay alert.....
and remember you
ARE the only defense for these priceless artworks! Of course, if you do get
caught napping
you can always pretend to be admiring the flowers. Occasionally I
guard the studio although the arrangements are somewhat cramped
it is better to ignore your persons former friends
and make the best
of a bad situation. In some areas it is important to not be fooled by the Faux
and remember that it does save on housework. Sand on sand you know requires no
sweeping. It also is much better to be caught
by a wave than on the velvet
chair or Nana's antique
pillow
no matter how comfortable and clean
you are! You
do have to take into consideration that if you
don't keep them trained, artists tend to be messy! Constant reminders to clean
up their workspace are necessary and
some of the flavors aren't too bad
getting her to start fresh is sometimes a battle
but always worthwhile
! Your person may think it necessary for you to make friends with some of their
friends pets regardless of whom they hang out with
or where they like to go
and what they like to do, I have found that this is best avoided. Sometimes you
just have to make
yourself appear larger to get your point across.
But it is worth the effort in the long run and
allows them to do their thing
While you check out the guest room
and prepare for a well earned nap!
Occasionally I accompany my artist person on walks in the neighborhood, or even to the local shops, if you happen to see us I appreciate a friendly pat (it slows her down), if you are with your dog let them know that I am armed and can be dangerous to those who approach me too quickly. I'm deaf ya know.... that's why we walk... always helps to have a big person on the other end of the leash! Otherwise feel free to visit me at the studio between naps.
